Additionally, we're celebrating the six-year anniversary of Arma 3's first premium DLC - Arma 3 Karts - by making it available for free for the duration of the sale. The Arma 3 Karts DLC – a small but fun sidestep in our typically military sandbox – adds a 20hp 4-stroke engine go-kart, 5 Time Trials races, plus various assets related to karting, such as a race driver character, a motorsport marshal and starter pistol, and various plastic barriers to build your own race tracks in Arma 3's scenario editor.
Starting its life as an April Fools' joke, Arma 3 Karts is Arma 3's first premium downloadable content (DLC). It was released six years ago in 2014 on the 29th of May, and served as a pilot test of Arma 3's DLC 'content-licensing' technology – a new system designed to prevent a split in our game's multiplayer community between DLC owners and non-owners. After Arma 3 Karts' first million of Czech koruna in proceeds was donated to charity, it maintained its popularity and went on to become the best-selling Arma 3 DLC to date.
