While many players are familiar with public servers, the true depth of the Arma experience lies in organised tactical communities. Tactical Training Team was born out of a simple observation: the German-speaking Arma scene lacked a community that combined structured training, realistic teamwork, and an open, welcoming culture all at once. There was a distinct gap between casual groups and rigid Milsim units modeled strictly on real-world military structures. The Tactical Training Team was officially launched in November 2013 by its founder relain to fill precisely this gap.
The approach was intentionally different from the start: no focus on a single military branch, no rigid rank structures, and no mandatory attendance. Instead, the focus was on a training concept designed to foster the development of both beginners and experienced players alike. What began as a small project in 2013 celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2023 as one of the longest-running active German Arma communities.
Tactical Training Team’s main operations take place on Tuesday and Friday evenings between 1930 and 2330 CET / CEST. TTT offers a wide variety of gameplay styles, spanning everything from standard infantry and mechanized units to full combined arms operations, logistics, artillery, medevac, and air assets — and they also enjoy getting behind the controls of a tank. In addition to cooperative missions, TTT regularly plays TvT matches and has taken part in competitive Esports tournaments.
An extensive modset serves as a foundation, ensuring a high level of realism and immersion. The scenarios feature a diverse lineup of global factions, including the Bundeswehr, US Armed Forces, as well as British units. Furthermore, talented creators within TTT actively develop custom Steam Workshop content, including the well-known Redd’n’Tank Vehicles as well as AWX and CPX.
Training is front and center at TTT and is woven directly into the unit’s DNA. From weapons handling and radio communications to tactics and mission design, structured training sessions cater to every skill level are offered. The ultimate testament to this is the publicly accessible TTT-Wiki, a massive German-language repository packing over 200 pages of the community’s collective knowledge.
Beyond online activities, the community regularly connects offline. Spontaneous get-togethers and annual community gatherings are part of TTT culture, building real-world camaraderie away from the screen.
This team spirit also carries over into the competitive branch; since 2018, a dedicated Esports team has represented TTT in the Electronic Sports Masters (ESM).
Joining TTT is straightforward, as no formal application is required. Newcomers simply jump right into a Basic Training Event, where gameplay, mods and the community are introduced in a practical and welcoming way. Experienced Arma players can opt for the Fast-Path: a concise and targeted introduction to the specifics of TTT for a quick start. With Arma Reforger already featured in the regular schedule, TTT is fully ready for the arrival of Arma 4.
