Remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading! matekosh has taken that statement to heart and given us the Faster Pistol Swap mod to increase the speed at which you switch to your sidearm in Arma 3.

COM-OPS

As reported by PC Gamer, we have revealed that around 695,000 copies of Arma 3 sold during the recent Steam Summer Sale 2024. Close to 100,000 of those copies were sold during the sale's first day. This is the highest number of copies sold in a single day dating all the way back to the initial Arma 3 Alpha release in March 2013! We welcomed these potential new players to the fold with a Steam announcement, detailing a number of quickstart guides, blog articles, video tutorials, and more to help integrate them into our long-standing Arma community!

The 101st Airborne Vietnam Milsim Unit successfully conducted Operation LAMAR PLAIN earlier this summer. This operation presented a number of tactical challenges, primarily due to the difficulties the ever-changing terrain. Members of the unit had to adapt to their environment and situation and overcome these challenges.

The 6th Airborne Division Realism Unit has provided a video After Action Report (AAR) of their unit activities in the month of June. This video is available to watch on YouTube.

The 6thAB hosted Arma Community Manager LeClair for a Community Play Session Live Stream back in April. This special Second World War event marked the 15th anniversary of the 6thAB Milsim Unit. You can watch the VOD of that stream here.

RubixRaptor wants us to know that the Vietnam War experience of Arma 3 Creator DLC: S.O.G. Prairie Fire is one of agonizing pain. We beg to differ, because his video featuring brutal gameplay from one-life multiplayer scenarios looks to be an incredibly fun time for all involved!

"Speed and Brute Force" is the title of DarkLiberatorZone's YouTube video featuring exciting Operation TREBUCHET: First Contact gameplay.

COM-STREAM

On June 8th, Arma Community Manager LeClair attended a mega-op designed by DigbyTW for another Community Play Session Live Stream. This mega-op was based on the Utah Beach landings to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the beginning of the Normandy campaign.

If you missed the stream, the VOD is available below:

Only July 13th, Arma Community Manager LeClair attended another Second World War special event - this time one based on the Battle of Britain. Designed and hosted by MrJayDarlington, this was the fourth iteration of his annual multiplayer event. Pilots took to the skies in Hurricanes and Spitfires to intercept German aircraft raiding the coast of England, while the ground crews serviced their aircraft between sorties. An operations room would interpret information relayed by radar and observation stations, and determine where and when to scramble fighters to.
