Spearhead Extended (SPEX) is an official Steam Workshop mod created by the Heavy Ordnance Works team made to augment content for Arma 3 Creator DLC: Spearhead 1944. Currently it includes Utah Beach by Temppa, WW2 versions of Bohemia Interactive game modes (Combat Patrol, Escape, Warlords, Zeus) accessible through singleplayer or multiplayer servers, along with additional content. Sparky has recently shared a teaser image of a Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) AH-64 attack helicopter - coming soon™ to the JSDF Overhauled mod on Steam Workshop.
The Romanian Armed Forces Dev Team has released the TR-85M1 "Bizonul" (Bison) third-generation main battle tank to the Steam Workshop! The Bizonul is currently the most modern tank in service with the Romanian Land Forces. You can download the mod here.
COM-OPS
Over the holidays, the 101st Airborne Vietnam Milsim Unit conducted Operation Jingle Bells III. A C-119 carrying the Battalions Christmas mail was shot down over Doung Island, and Cobra Platoon was deployed to recover it.
The 6th Virtual Fighter Wing also conducted a holiday-themed operation in December. Their operation was a bit more outlandish, for they played as a series of Mall Santas sent to rescue Mariah Carey, and to seal her away for hibernation until the next Holiday season. Why Mall Santas, who would have to tolerate Christmas themed music all December long, would volunteer to save her is beyond us!
European Tactical Realism recently conducted their first operation of 2024 - a Second World War offering called Operation Flatbed that had players taking part as Easy Company, 506 PIR, 101st Airborne. You can follow ETR on X for more info on any upcoming operations.
