LAUNCHER TROUBLESHOOTING_
Pre-requirements and missing packages
The Arma 3 Launcher needs the following packages installed before it can run. These packages should be installed automatically by the Steam client.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 download from here
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013 (x86 - vcredist_x86.exe)* download from here
*Note: You have to install the x86 version of the package even when you have a 64-bit system.
Problem with a Launcher window
If the Launcher’s window is not visible, but you see an icon of running application in the taskbar, please try running the Launcher in Safe Mode.
Launcher’s safe mode
You can run the Arma 3 Launcher in Safe Mode by pressing and holding Ctrl + Shift before running the Launcher and releasing them once the Launcher starts.
Or you can start the launcher with the -safemode parameter.
In Safe Mode, you can disable HW acceleration for the Launcher (you will be asked when entering Safe Mode - or via the checkbox on the Launcher's Options page).

You can start the launcher with -nohwa parameter to switch it automatically into software rendering mode.
Steam is in offline mode
Launcher status indicates that Steam is running in Offline Mode. Please check that the Steam client on your computer is running and that it is online.
If you have UAC enabled on your system, or if you are using a standard (limited) user account (not administrator account), and are running Steam as “Administrator”, you will have to start the Launcher also as “Administrator”.
Known issues
- SweetFX Shader Suite prevents Launcher from running in HW accelerated mode. Use the safe mode and switch to software rendering.
- The RadeonPro graphics card utility may cause the Launcher to crash. Disable it or add arma3launcher.exe to its compatibility list and set "Disable API detection".
- The Raptr client may cause Launcher to crash.
